About e-medborgarkonto

Q: How do I register e-medborgarkonto?
A: To be able to log in with e-medborgarkonto you need a smartphone, YubiKey or other equipment that your municipality has decided to use, that you are a Swedish citizen and that you have a valid e-mail address.

Please follow these steps:
1. Select the log in method "E-medborgarkonto" in your municipalities provided services.
2. You will be redirected to the log in page for e-medborgarkonto, where you can log in with an already existing account or create a new account.
3. Select "Create account" and follow the provided instructions. In this phase you select your own password.
Please note that before you can use your e-medborgarkonto to log in you need to receive your PUK-code which is sent by post to your home address after creating your account. The PUK-code is to validate your account.

Q: How do I log in with e-medborgarkonto?
A:Before you attempt to log in, you need to create an account using the method mentioned in previous question. As second factor you can use several different methods, such as an app in your smartphone or YubiKey. Your municipality decides which method is to be used.

Please follow these steps:
1. Select the log in method "E-medborgarkonto" in your municipalities provided services.
2. Enter your Swedish social security number or e-mail and your password.
3. As a second factor your smartphone, YubiKey or other similar equipment will be used. Your municipality has decided which method to use.

Q: I have forgotten my password, what do I do now?
A: Click the link "Forgot your password?" on the log in page, you will now be able to reset your password with the second factor you entered when you registered your account.

Q: I have changed my cellphone number, how do I connect the new number to my e-medborgarkonto?
A:Please follow these steps below:

1. Click the tab "Settings" where you log in with e-medborgarkonto.
2. Log in using your Swedish social security number or e-mail and password.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
The reset requires your PUK-code or the previous cellphone that is already registered to your account.

Q:What is e-medborgarkonto?
A:e-medborgarkonto is an account for logging in. When the account is activated it can be used anywhere that there are services that require it.
